Sensors for Nonwoven Material (spunbond, tire cord, roofing)
Infrared sensors feature a modulated light source making them insensitive to ambient light. They are generally used for opaque webs, but some can be used for clear films when used with an amplifier. Specifically for nonwoven materials, the First*Edge Sensor has the ability to 'see' materials regardless of variations in porosity. Visible light sensors are used as an edge or center guide sensor on unwinds, rewinds, or any applications where multiple web widths are processed.
